How we began… Our Humble Sandwich Shop
Three friends that all went to the same high school got together to begin a life long dream. Thirty years later here they are opening their first sandwich shop together. Mike Greenberg and Johnny Perkins both have over 60 years combined experience in the food and beverage industry in Colorado Springs and Las Vegas. Pete Esson has been in the radiology field during most of his time living in Las Vegas. His dream was to own his own business and with the support of all three partners we are making this dream come to life.
Quality and Pride Rooted in High Standards
All three are excited to have a shop that they can be proud of. To open a sandwich shop that will be different from the ordinary. We use high quality meats and create enormous flavor with those meats, then put them into extraordinary sandwiches. There are no fryers in our establishment. Being health conscious is important to us and our guests and we feel that we can maintain this by creating great sandwiches, salads and sides! House made Meatballs served on toasted grinder sandwich roll made by the Boulangerie. Fresh Pastrami brined in House then smothered in coriander and black peppercorns and slowly roasted to perfection. We make our corned beef straight from the best USDA beef brisket then cook it slowly like our Pastrami, but without the smoke.
What is a Grinder?
The Grinder’s origin is mysterious, much like this photo below of the Beatles with a giant grinder. It’s origin: New England. It has been said it is a sandwich that sailors would chomp (or grind) down on the dock before they’d brave the sea. Some say the distinction is that a grinder would be a hot toasted sandwich, while hoagies or subs are traditionally sandwiches with cold cut meats. Today at Grinder Sandwich Shop Colorado Springs, what is important to us is hand crafted grinders made right with fresh prepared ingredients achieving rock star status every time.
